On Sunday, July 2nd, my friend Evelyn invited me to ride with a few friends on a relaxing trip down to the Pacific coast.

It was a beautiful, sunny morning as we rode up route 239 to Puriscal and down curvy, smooth route 137 to have breakfast at Soda El Higueron.

Clear, wide views, and, as happened on Saturday as well: no cars! What a treat!

It was nice for me to see my friend Francisco Chanto again, and to spend time connecting with Eve and the group during breakfast, a most-important part of most rides — coffee, conversation, and laughs.

After breakfast, we headed over to the Sulay Quary. A must stop for photos on this route. 🙂

I was happy to ride with two other women bikers (Evelyn and Marjorie), and it turned out that Chanto’s friend, Valeria, is also a motorcyclist. So cool!

Valeria is a photographer, so below are several photos of yours truly. Hahaha!
For me, it was tons of fun to ride with a relatively-fast group. It makes it all more exhiliratig.

We rested a bit in the shade of lighthouse in Puntarenas. Lovely.

We headed back to the valley through the wide curves of Cambronero — route 1. Again, there was almost no traffic, and so it was simply perfect.
My little Honda CB 500 couldn’t catch up to them as they flew like eagles on the way to San Ramón. Hahaha! But Sahara and I tried!
I went to a musical fundrasier at Hacienda Vivachi, and closed the day with fabulous music and more good friends. Wonderful!

Ever grateful for this riding tribe!! Thanks Eve, my friend, for inviting me to join you.
RIDING IN COSTA RICA: FEEL THE BEAUTY. KNOW THE LOVE. LIVE THE POWER.

Date of ride: Sunday, July 2nd, 2022
Song: Fly like an eagle.
“Time keeps on slipping
Into the future
Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping
Into the future
I want to fly like an eagle, to the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly (oh, yeah)
Fly right into the future

Thanks to Marjorie and others for some of these photos.
