Hello!
Yes, it has been ages since I posted. It’s a shame because I have enjoyed many new, exciting routes this past year. It would have been fun to share them and collect them here, but my heart is no longer into blogging, as I have mentioned several times. 🙂 Luckily, it most definitely still is into riding! Riding High!
Let me introduce my new little Tsunami (Yamaha XT250).
I am sure I will experience many Tidal Waves of Pure Joy on her. Hahaha!

I bought Tsunami because the seat is low. I can easily put both feet on the ground. This gives me security on rough terrains. She is a dual-sport motorcycle that I can take on challenging mountain gravel routes without the trepidation that I sometimes feel with Sahara, due to her weight and size. And, just as importantly, as you can see, she is sleek, sexy, and beautiful! How could I resist?

Sadly, this decision has meant a fall from grace for many of my friends who are Honda devotees. Especially since Honda recently made a video of me to celebrate Sahara’s 100 kilometer milepost, in which I said I was a Honda Rider at Heart. The guy who made it had told me not to mention brands, and I instantly forgot and said this. 🙂 For some strange reason, this video has had 57,700 views. I supose it’s because I am an elderly woman? LINK: Hondera de Corazón. I am grateful for the recognition, especially since it came from my dear friend and Sensei Felix Franco. It feels like an act of love and care for me, which just deepens my love for him. I also know that this video has inspired other women to someday purchase a motorcycle, for many wrote to me privately.

Anyhow. I now consider myself a Honda Rider…with a Yamaha! 🙂 Like several of my friends. (True story.)

You know that I had lots of fun during my phase of writing Honda quotes. I especially liked the first one which inspired all the rest: “Home is where my Honda is.” What a great quote, if I do say so myself! 🙂
I also join Red Riders whenever I can and appreciate all the Honda dealers and Honda-owning friends. BUT, the truth is that Honda has never offered to sponsor me in any way. So, though I do feel some odd shame about buying Tsunami, I also need to be OK with following my heart. (Fact is, also like the Royal Enfield Himalayan.) I am too free to box myself into social conventions like becoming married to a brand. I am not a brand. I am an adventure rider.
Inexplicably, however, since having Anansi (Hero XPulse), which I did enjoy, but was not trustworthy, and recently purchasing Tsunami, for some reason, my love of Honda has only increased! Go figure. I appreciate the community — and the dependability of Honda. It seems that, regarding motorcycles, I am polyamorous, but with one primary love object: Honda. I love wings in flight! Tsunami can’t dim that feeling.

I can’t wait for summer to come to take Tsunami on WILD RIDES to WILD PLACES!

I know my Thursday riding buddies Jorge and Henry and I will have lots of intense fun together exploring new routes. Yay! Can’t wait.

RIDING IN COSTA RICA: FEEL THE BEAUTY. KNOW THE LOVE.

“Get your motor runnin’
Head out on the highway
Lookin’ for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin’, go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace.”
(Born to be wild.)
I purchased Tsunami in May. Nice month. Taurus. Earthy. Love it.
