On Sunday, May 28, 2023, about 30 Honda Red Riders went to San Lorenzo de Tarrazu to head down to Quepos. Led by my dear friend and Sensei, Felix Franco, we had a wonderful time enjoying the routes and each other.

We met at Honda SAVA in San Jose. It was a pleasure to see friends and meet new ones.

We had breakfast at Quiosco La Union, which has a buffet. This works best for large groups, and it also has a nice view.

Felix asked me to lead the group down the mountain from Tarrazu. I had been worried about the state of the route and wasn’t sure about even going. But when he asked, I said, OK. I wore the T-shirt my riding buddy, Robert, gave me that reads: “Some girls chase boys. I pass them.” (Grin!)

Obviously, it was good for my self-esteem to guide the group down. Hahaha!

The route from Tarrazu to Quepos is in good shape at the moment. It has been scraped and a thin layer of gravel has been put on it. There are a few sections which may become challenging during the heart of the rainy season, and ruts are forming in some areas, but it is quite easy at the moment.

It is a beautiful, wild route with fabulous views.
The main frustration was that lunch took over two hours, and this made the day longer for those who had joined us from far away.

At least the restaurant itself was nice with wide views. For large groups, buffets are best (as I mentioned). I am going to confirm that there is one in Parrita one of these days.

The road from Parrita to Puriscal is also in good shape, and we continued to have fun flying like eagles on our Honda Wings! π

I parted from the main group at Cerbatana to guide a few others to the San Pablo de Turrubares route to Atenas. Thankfully, with only a light rain.
It was a truly satisfying day with Honda Red Riders. Nothing but ONE LOVE!
RIDING IN COSTA RICA: FEEL THE BEAUTY. KNOW THE LOVE. LIVE THE POWER.

Song: One love, one heart. Let’s get together and feel alright.
Special thanks to my dear friend and Sensei, Felix Franco, for being such a brigth light in my life.
