Since I ride twice a week on average, it’s not easy to decide which rides of 2018 were most exciting for me. I had so much fun and adventure.
.
But, without a doubt, two of my MOST favorite rides (of many favorites!) of 2018 were Rt 742 from San Ramon to Esparza (featured photo), and 417 from Irazú volcano to Turrialba volcano.
.
The first had stunning views and was thrilling because it was a bit challenging. That’s when I thought, “I hope I don’t run into a jaguar.” 🙂
.
The one to Turrialba volcano was thrilling because of the emotional impact of coming up to the volcano.
.
I simply LOVE riding on new roads! Don’t we all?
.
Other rides were also exceptional and worth honoring. Like my ride from Samara to and around Lake Arenal, then home, which was pure fun.
.
Nosara and Costa de Pájaros were special because they had a different cultural feel. I love Nicoya and its people!

Being alone in nature, immersed in beauty, is a deeply soulful experience for me. I feel blessed to ride a motorcycle in Costa Rica, and to experience such intense feelings of gratitude, joy, fun, fear, awe and wonder — rain or shine! 🙂
