People-ing! (Tucurrique and Orosi)

I am so glad to be riding in Costa Rica regularly again! It’s the best soul medicine for these strange times of separation and disconnection from friends and loved ones.

On Wednesday, June 24th, I went for a ride with a few friends to Turrialba, through Tucurrique, to Orosi. It was nice to be with friends on such a gorgeous route.

We stopped by the Hotel Turirre in Turrialba. Nice grounds, nice historical building.

On our way to Orosi, we witnessed an accident. The motorcyclist came around the curve too fast and slammed right into a car. I was quite shaken by it and even cried for a while. I settled down once I knew he was going to be OK.

Lately, I have noticed how much I like people-ing. I enjoy interacting with gas station attendants, cashiers, mechanics, etc. when I ride alone and in general. 🙂 Joking with others and making them smile brings a smile to my own heart. It lightens my day.

It is so difficult for me to not hug or be hugged during Coronavirus. We are, after all, social mammals! This is why riding is so important to me. It is a fun, exciting way to get out of my loneliness. I miss Los Rejuntados terribly, especially my friend Dave Mejía who was sort of like the Silver Back Gorilla of the group, leading us forward and taking care of us. Yeah. Tough to not be out with my usual riding buddies. AND, happy that I have other friends with whom I can ride! And that we took this interesting route. Good stuff!!

I have another post to post! Hahaha! That’s cause I took three rides last week. 🙂 Loving what I love: riding!

RIDING IN COSTA RICA:
FEEL THE BEAUTY. KNOW THE LOVE. LIVE THE POWER.
