Route 415 from Turrialba to La Herediana

I took Route 415 from Turrialba to La Herediana today, coming back on Rt 32. It was a perfect summer day with clear, cool blue skies all day. Spectacular!

Route 230. Santa Teresa. Turrialba volcano smoking.

Rt 415 is a lovely road — quaint, with great views of the volcano and of the Reventazón dam.

Rt 415 is mostly flat as it runs on an upper ridge before it starts going down. There are lots of cute houses all along the way.

The last part is a bit isolated and wild before nearing La Herediana, which is a nice area.

Then you have the volcano behind you. 🙂 Cool.

I had to stop for a fruit plate and drink!

San Isidro de Heredia. Irazú and Turrialba volcanoes behind me now.

I loved riding with the volcano in front of me, on my left, behind me, and all around! But then again, I am easily gratified!

RoadBlockUSE
After my long day, I hit a road block in Las Chorreras. Hahaha! Had to go down the mountain and come back up on the Getsemani road.

It was an 8.5 hour day because I stopped to take tons of photos. A gorgeous day!

Song: Gloria. For some reason.

Riding in Costa Rica. Live the power!
