Monteverde

I went to Monteverde today as part of a four-night trip.

Road3

About half the road up is gravel, with lots of little rocks, but with great views.

I made it to Monteverde by 10 a.m. and realized I could have kept going, down to Tilaran. But, I had already made reservations for the night. (Relive video LINK.)

The roads in Monteverde and in Santa Elena are paved, but the side roads are not. These can be pretty rough, with lots of ruts and rocks of all sizes, up and down. (I rode around, then took the Sky walk — and took a wrong turn getting there. :-))

I enjoyed my walk on a Sky Walk with hanging bridges. Loved the silence and the sound of the birds (until the noisy, talkative tourists came along). 🙂

This adorable little guy would bark for me to give him a bite of my quiche.

Song: So close and yet so far — My Eyes Adored You. (How I felt getting there. :-))

Riding in Costa Rica: Feel the beauty. Know the love.
