It’s just great that a few of Los Rejuntados have Adventure motorcycles! As our first ride of 2020 we went from San Lorenzo de Tarrazú to Quepos, then came home via route 239 from Parrita to Pursical.
The morning was wet, very cold, windy, and foggy through Cartago and onto Route 2. We had breakfast at Rest. La Union, which has nice views when it’s not foggy.
After breakfast we headed to San Lorenzo de Tarrazu, then had a fun ride down the dirt/gravel road from there to Quepos. Great views, a few interesting curves, and lots of lush natural beauty. As they say, life is better with a motorcycle…especially off road!
Here is a video of us crossing a little river. As I crossed it, I sat down, knowing my friend and riding teacher, Félix Franco would, as he said later, scream in silence! Hahaha! But I did manage to shift gears while standing many times, and this is an accomplishment for me. Progress not perfection! Eventually (and with better boots) I will ride off road standing the whole time…even across rivers. 🙂 Video: Crossing a little river.
We crossed another little river, but decided not to cross the larger one for it was deep right in the middle.
We had lunch at the Quepos Marina, then decided to head home on another gravel road: Route 239 from Parrita to Puriscal.
Our bikes and our bodies were completely covered in dust by the end of the ride! Much of the ride was like riding through dust clouds as I followed Dave and Roger. j
Yes. Definitely. I’ll say it again: life is better with a motorcycle…especially off road!!
