And the livin’ is easy. (Tivives Beach and Protected Zone)

SanMateo

This morning I went to Tivives beach once again. On my Honda XL 200, the “Honda Tropical.” 🙂 She is so easy to handle, and I love putting my feet flat on the ground!

It was a wonderful ride, with lots of mango and cashew trees along the way, and all sorts of other trees in full  blossom, especially Blooming Oaks (Roble de la Sabanna). Summer in Costa Rica is a colorful feast for ones eyes!

Looking up from Tivives beach by the bluff.

After resting, collecting a bit of small driftwood, and enjoying the peace of the beach, I decided to go up to the Tivives Protected Zone, since when I tried last year it was too muddy, and I turned around.

The first uphill part was a bit stressful for me, because it has a lot of large, loose rocks. But I made it up without any trouble. The rest of the trip was lovely, riding through Tropical Dry Forest.

After breakfast in Caldera, I took route 756, which my friend Mauricio Cordero had recently taken, from San Rafael de Esparza to Route 1.

Route 756 is mostly paved, with some spots where the pavement has washed out. It is tranquil and isolated. I will return!!

The best part was stopping to enjoy a rain of flowers. 🙂

Yeah. Summer. Great time to ride in Costa Rica!!

FEEL THE BEAUTY. KNOW THE LOVE. LIVE THE POWER.
