Curves and more curves! (Pirris dam and Route 313)

I contacted my friend Mauricio Cordero earlier in the week to see if he wanted to ride to the Pirris Dam with me on Sunday (yesterday). He ended up organizing a nice group of us, and we had a thrilling time riding to the dam and then taking route 313 to San Gabriel.

Here they are, heading down from El Empalme to San Lorenzo.

The views in the Los Santos area are amazing!!!

From the dam we decided to take Route 313 to San Gabriel. Again, the views were astounding. This route is hard-packed gravel, easy to ride.

The curves down to La Legua are STEEP, hairpin curves that just go down, down, down…on gravel!! But we all made it. No problem.

Stop after coming down.

At Tabarca, the group split and a few of us came home via Tabarcia/Palmichal.

I had tons of fun on route 209. Like never before! I guess Sahara loves that road with all its curves. And, no, I did not practice curving on this road, which my friend Koki pointed out to me (though I had all the way to the dam). So from then on, I practiced leaning my body out on curves. Soon, it will feel and be natural. Can’t wait!!

It was a thrilling day. The best kind of riding adventure: new, challenging roads, great weather, fantastic views, and a wonderful group of riders. Thanks to Mauricio for his leadership!! Here is his video of the ride: Asfalto/Jungla.
