Cerro Dragon (Piedras Blancas Guaitil, and Acosta)

For a long time I have wanted to go to Piedras Blancas. My friend Mario Alejandro took me there on July 28 and then to other gravel roads, ending in Acosta. Amazing views!!

I waited for him at the crossing to Tabarcia, with this view of Dragon Mountain. We went over those mountains and closer to it. He was our companion most of the way. Lovely!

I admit the steep and curvy road down to Piedras Blancas stressed me out. On the way back up these curves, I wondered how I had done it so well. Hahaha! Glad I had company.

Then we took a lovely road to Acosta and had breakfast on the sidewalk, buying sweets from a bakery.Lunch

Since the ride was only three hours, I decided to continue on my own. I headed out to route 137, then down to Caldera for a full lunch.

I had lunch at a well-known restaurant, to which I had never been: La Leda in Mata de Limón. Great service!

Grateful to be making friends who can be my tour guides to new adventures!

  1. This route is also in my list – is it close to Llano Bonito? the one we went with Felix and the red riders towards Parrita?
